Have you ever thought to yourself, “It would be really cool if AIGA Jacksonville held an event like this…” or “I wish AIGA Jacksonville would book this speaker for an event…”, then join the AIGA Jacksonville Board and turn your voice into ACTION!

We need members of the local design community with creative ideas on how AIGAJAX can help stimulate thinking about design, demonstrate the value of design, and empower the success of designers through local events, community outreach and member communication.

The following positions are open for the 2010-2011 year:

  • Secretary
The Secretary works with the President, Vice President, and Treasurer to review event proposals and budgets, make decisions regarding Chapter policy, and provide guidance for the Board of Directors and the Chapter as a whole. The Secretary is responsible for keeping all Board members up-to-date on pertinent dates and details.
  • Volunteer Chair
The Volunteer Chair is responsible for recruiting volunteers to participate in the chapter in the following ways: to join chaired committees for a one year term; to act as event staff with specific responsibilities; to join task forces on pressing issues facing the organization; and to be assistants to board members.
  • Membership Co-Chair
The Membership Co-Chair is responsible for growing the AIGA Jacksonville membership by promoting the benefits of membership through regular correspondence, event promotion and member programs. This chair position communicates the value of joining the AIGA to the membership, and potential membership, through focused programs that help members feel a part of the AIGA community.
  • Design Mentoring Co-Coordinator
The Design Mentoring Co-Coordinator helps select the initiative for each mentoring group, plan each mentoring session, keep in constant contact with all of the mentors and mentees involved in the program and promote the program through various media outlets. They are also responsible for updating the Discover Design website, as well as the Design Ignites Change website with our mentoring group information.
  • Events Coordinator
The Events Coordinator is responsible for planning and managing all key Chapter events that do not fall into the regular monthly Chapter calendar. They help manage the committee chair in charge of each program to ensure they are on task and on budget. This person works closely with the Programming Chair and the Executive Board in all decisions regarding scheduling, budget and upholding the mission of AIGA.

In addition, we are seeking additional help with managing these social media outlets:

  • Facebook Coordinator
  • Blog(tumblr) Editor

To be on the board you must either be a member of AIGA, or become a member of AIGA.
