Come Support AIGA Jacksonville at the 6th Annual Great City Rescue Mission Bed Race and Family Festival

About the Event

Participating teams will each race a bed decorated in the theme of “Jacksonville History and City Landmarks”. Awards will be given in several categories, including best decorated bed, most entertaining team, best fundraising team, best team costume, fastest bed and overall winner. In addition to this light-hearted competition, the event offers team booths, a children’s fair, music, concessions, and tons of fun for the entire family. Proceeds benefit City Rescue Mission, a self-supporting non-profit organization that offers food, clothing, shelter, emergency services, and residential recovery programs to the homeless in Jacksonville, Florida.

Team AIGA Jacksonville: Silent Film
With its creative reputation on the line, AIGA Jacksonville challenged itself to find a unique, bold solution to design a bed and booth to meet this year’s event decor theme “Jacksonville Landmarks and History.” Discarding easy choices such as Andrew Jackson or the Jacksonville Jaguars, AIGA decided upon “Silent Film”, inspired by Jacksonville’s moviestar past.




Flash back to the early 1900s. Jacksonville, with its mild climate, offered the ideal alternate location to New York’s chilling winters, earning the city the title “Winter Film Capital of the World”. Since the 20th century, Jacksonville has been involved in both black and white and color films (including Creature from the Black Lagoon, G.I. Jane and The Devil’s Advocate) and in a score of television productions.

All Bed and Booth Sponsorships offer the following benefits plus benefits specific to sponsorship selection:

On-site promotions and press coverage. The Bed Race is a highly anticipated, well-attended event that receives significant media exposure. The best designed beds and booths receive the most attention and generate the most press. Association with the hosting team offers ample exposure to sponsors.

AIGA Jacksonville website/blog. We list event details, recaps, and photos on our website at www.aigajacksonville.org and give frequent mention to sponsors.

E-mail marketing. This event will be promoted to 1,500+ subscribers via e-newsletters and event e-blasts.

Social media. We promote our events extensively on Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, and YouTube.

AIGA Jacksonville’s black and white bed will include film icons such as a film scene clap board, director’s chair and credits. The bed will include sound and light components that mimic these elements as used in early film.

Booth Sponsorship

Claim the event booth as yours. The booth will feature pie throwing, face painting, and photo cutout and promises to be a big hit with event attendees. Sponsor name/logo will be added to the Team Booth. Sponsor has option to provide family friendly marketing materials to be distributed to event crowd. $250 investment.
