Working for Friends, Family and Fat-Cats
We’ve all been in a design situation that sometimes just didn’t sit well with us yet we’ve all continued on with it. Friends who have asked for that one favor, families that have that one talented artist and companies that have asked us to show what we can do for them before even getting the project. In fact, in today’s market, it’s become more prevalent that companies are pitting the masses against each other, in an effort to get the best quality work for the lowest price possible. Do we do it for the fame? Do we do it for the work? What does it mean for our industry if we continue to blindly value the work we do?
as we try to understand our own motives. This is a members-only event. Space is very limited.
About Designer Dialogue
The Designer Dialogues are a new set of programming initiatives created specifically for the members of AIGA Jacksonville that will consist of a very small group of individuals coming together to discuss and dispute the challenges we face as designers. With a more one-on-one, roundtable approach, the chapter hopes to create a more intimate, conversational setting with all different types of members sharing their insights about a specific topic.
