Wayne Dennis

Corporate Director of Sustainability, Mac Papers, Jacksonville, FL

Wayne has spoken at various firms, corporations, universities and professional associations all over the southeast on critical environmental issues and how they relate to paper, design and print. Some include the Printing Association of Florida (PAF) Conference, Printing Industry of the Carolinas (PICA) Conference, AAF conference, AIGA South Carolina, the National Investor Relations Institute, the American Pulp and Paper Institute, at the Best Practices National Symposium for one of the largest advertising agencies in the U.S., The Florida Direct Marketing Conference, The Florida Magazine Association Conference, the Florida Public Relations Association Conference and at the United States Postal Service Customer Council. He has authored a controversial “White Paper” for the State of Florida on why recycled paper may not be the best environmental choice. He has also written a series of environmental articles based on “Printing, the Best Environmental Choice” for the Florida Magazine Association newsletter.

One of Wayne’s direct responsibilities for Mac Papers is corporate sustainability initiatives and environmental issues. He has directed Mac Papers and their envelope converting facility through the sustainable forest chain-of-custody certification process and advised other commercial printers throughout the Southeast. Prior to joining Mac Papers in 1998, he had a background in distribution and software development. For 10-years he operated his own consulting firm assisting manufacturing and distribution companies with automating and streamlining their supply-chain procurement and materials processes. He also served as an ISO 9000 pre- auditor in procurement and materials management. He is active with the Nature Conservancy, World Wildlife Federation, Coastal Conservation Association, and Rainforest Alliance. He is a member of The International Society of Sustainability Professionals.
