Presented by Dripsblack, AIGA Jacksonville and 5 Points Theatre, The Citrus Cel Animation Film Festival celebrates animation as a cultural and commercial medium with three days of screenings, parties and art in Jacksonville, Florida. The festival will be a hub for students and professionals from the fields of animation, design, illustration, and film, as well as add to the growing cultural landscape of festivals and events in Northeast Florida. Showcasing animation’s amazing diversity as a creative vehicle, from features to advertising and music videos to title sequences, Citrus Cel provides an annual forum for Northeast Florida design professionals, filmmakers and students who use animation in their work allowing local and regional design-related businesses and colleges to recruit and network.
Dripsblack, AIGA Jacksonville and The 5 Points Theatre will be presenting the event the weekend of April 9-11, 2010 with all films and speaker programming to be held at the 5 Points Theatre located in the historic Riverside neighborhood of 5 Points, a thriving commercial and cultural district with a long history of supporting cultural events.

Juried Art Show
On display during the scheduled festival days at The Art Center II at 111 E. Bay Street, as well as for the April Art Walk, the accompanying Juried Art Show will revolve around the theme of “storytelling,” showcasing illustrative works in:
- Concept design
- Character design
- Storyboards
- Graphic novels
- Children’s books
- General (narrative form)
Design in Character Student Competition
In addition, there will be a student-only competition for character design entitled “Design in Character” that will be on display with the Juried Art Show.
