Breakthroughs: Where Inspiration and Technology Meet

Until recently, typography for the web was limited to a handful of overused screen-display fonts, but new font services are giving web designers the freedom to choose their typefaces and control their appearance without sacrificing web standards. In this webinar, moderator Callie Neylan will lead a discussion with Tim Brown, type manager for Typekit, about this “golden age” for web typography and how emerging technologies are improving web design.

Presented by Tim Brown, Type Manager for Adobe Typekit

Tim studies, promotes and advances the craft of web typography on a daily basis, and shares what he knows at Nice Web Type. Tim has written for A List Apart, and he helps web designers with tools such as Modular Scale and Web Font Specimen. Follow his Twitter feed at @nicewebtype.

Moderated by Callie Neylan

Callie is a designer, researcher and writer who has worked in visual and interaction design for renowned design firms Gensler and Teague and media organization NPR. Callie holds an MFA in design from the University of Washington in Seattle and is currently an assistant design professor at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
